The Secret Lake District - photography tour

The Lake District is perfect for Photography Courses, Workshops and Tours. It's one of the world's premier photography destinations, with an abundance of mountains -the 'fells', set aloft from numerous Lakes and verdant green valleys. 'The Secret Lake District' is a Photography Tour helping you explore further and deeper into the vast photographic potential of this unique area.

Sadly, many photographers never get to the chance to really explore what the area has to offer. This Photography Tour is the perfect solution, combining visits to some of the all time classic locations along with trips to locations that are off the beaten track and away from the crowds.

Course Aims
To guide experienced photographers to some of the less well known photography locations in the Lake District area as well as giving them the chance to visit the classic spots. Unlike tuition workshops where the main emphasis is on skill and knowledge development, 'The Secret Lake District' is about maximising your photographic opportunities by getting you to the right places at the right time. It's also about opening out the range of locations the Lake District has to offer in order that you can come back from your holiday with original and inspirational images. However, Rod will always be on hand to provide tuition to those requiring it along the way.

What will I learn about?
Shooting alongside Rod, a Lake District resident, you'll benefit from his extensive knowledge of the area, developed both through photography as well as his Mountain Leadership background. As someone who completed the 'Wainwrights' (list of the main lake district fells) over a decade ago, Rod has literally trod through and over the entire area, often finding photographic gems hidden away.

Is this course for me?
You're an intermediate or advanced photographer looking to get under the skin of the Lake District. You've created images at the 'usual' locations and are looking for something different - hidden spots in familiar areas, exploring the quiet fringes as well as getting off the beaten track entirely, heading into the fell side for a unique perspective.

How long does it last?
The Secret Lake District lasts for two days, with around 8 hours per day. Depending on the time of year, we'll look to incorporate an early start or late finish to give you a chance to capture a sunrise or sunset and make the most of “golden hour” light
